Interactive Media Communication
2022 winner of a DTES Small Arts Grant
I paint images of people, places and emotional times, like memories, relationships, expressions of solitude, and moments of importance, to connect with the audience’s experiences. I’m always trying to invent a new language to communicate. To freeze a moment that is just about to happen. I’m passionate about creating images that are both abstract and about the paint while keeping figures in the frame to help provide a sense of narrative I work using techniques like layers and drips through colors, tones and textures within a positive and negative space. My mediums are mostly oil, clay and Acrylic, I also use Pastel, ink and Charcoal for sketches.
My recent work pushes the boundaries of representation, integrating collage and abstraction within imaginative figurative compositions.
