Rosina Santillana
Mixed Media & Expressive Art
Received grants in 2017, 2019 and 2021
I am a Mixed Media Artist and Expressive Art Therapist. My work is about expressing ideas and feelings to establish a connection through colors, shapes and texture. I use acrylic paints and a variety of mediums to achieve the effect of layers, vibrant color and energy. Usually my paintings begin with an instinctive vision that opens and blossoms as the process reaches its maturity. My technique involves a mix of acrylic paints, pastels, inks and crayons, as well a variety of materials which are combined and manipulated to build textures.
How has receiving a DTES Small Arts Grant supported your development as an artist?

How has DTES Small Arts Grants helped DTES artists?
The economic incentive is gladly appreciated by artists, often the lack of resources goes in detriment of our own creativity, DTES Small Arts Grants are a great encouragement.
