I am interested in light and how it can manipulate color, space and mood.
I like obsessive, systematic and repetitive acts.
In my art practice I primarily work with light, colour and line. I always consider space, history and site. I often work in text. I like aesthetics and I consider my work pretty and provocative. I am interested in satire, irony and humor. I want my art to be accessible to everyone. There are elements of spectacle, a party atmosphere and cheekiness in my work.
How has receiving a DTES Small Arts Grant supported your development as an artist?
It allowed me to buy all the materials needed for this ongoing art project without cutting into my limited finances. This is 5 of the 16 20″x20″ paintings I have painted so far and I still have enough materials to make 12 more paintings of the same size and theme.
How has DTES Small Arts Grants helped DTES artists?
I’d say probably in the same ways it’s helped me.
How has DTES Small Arts Grants impacted the community?
It gives an opportunity for some community members to show their work in a public way to their fellow community members as well the public at large
